As educators, we all know that learning is developmental, but sometimes we forget that this relates to teachers as well as students. Math Solutions coaching is designed to help teachers at all levels of experience take the next steps toward continuous professional improvement. Whether you need support for your math department, individual teachers, or collaborative groups, we’ll find a way to provide solutions to your particular challenges.
ePD Online CoachingePD Coaching provides the opportunity for educators to address their most pressing instructional issues. Math Solutions instructors lead collaborative groups online to successfully apply new knowledge and skills.
Sessions are customized for each group and can focus on any topic of choice. Interactive activities and assignments are designed for each group and can include:
- Planning instruction based on student performance
- Developing plans for achieving goals by implementing sustained and evidence-based instructional strategies
- Using state standards to develop lesson plans
- Reviewing and analyzing student work
- Sharing videos of classroom instruction

ePD Coaching can be scheduled outside of the school day, eliminating the need to release teachers from their classrooms, and can be accessed using any computer with an Internet connection.
A coaching series consists of three two-hour sessions with a maximum of 20 participants per session.
On-Site Coaching
In the ClassroomTeachers are too busy for “just one more thing to do.” With Math Solutions coaching, teachers don’t need to be pulled from their classrooms for professional development; coaches and teachers work side-by-side so new information can be immediately integrated into the process of teaching.
Building Your Own Coaching StaffOur instructors use their expertise to train key members of your staff to become math coaches. New staff members can benefit from shared expertise and quickly become a part of your math team’s efforts.
Teaming to Drive InnovationChange doesn’t take place in isolation. With our understanding of both math and group dynamics, we support principals and math coaches in building productive relationships. Sharing expertise and experience, they collaborate to establish the plans and protocols that drive instructional improvement in their schools.
Moving from Effectiveness to Effecting Change We help coaches develop leadership skills to drive innovation and instructional change in their schools, enhancing their abilities to strengthen instruction through collaborative teaching, observations, and collegial conversations.
On-Site Coaching OverviewOur School-Based Coaching is planned with you in advance. Our Individual-Based Coaching begins with an on-site consultation and observation.

Our customized coaching services are structured to meet the needs of individual teachers, groups of teachers, and/or new or experienced coaches. We work with members of your school’s mathematics program to identify classroom needs. We then collaborate with you to create a custom coaching plan, which includes many options:
- Support for implementing effective teaching practices
- Demonstration lessons, including pre- and post-conversations, to illustrate instructional techniques
- Collegial planning and observation of lessons to refine instruction
- Collaborative instructional planning for grade levels
- Development and deepening of teachers’ content knowledge
- Analysis of student work samples to assess learning and determine instructional next steps
